Can I operate my T6 Smart Thermostat with the PC/laptop?

No. Honeywell Connected Thermostats are designed to be accessed remotely via Apple or Android mobile devices only.

Can I have multiple thermostats in my home?

Yes, the Honeywell Home app supports multi zoning using T6 Smart Thermostats.

Does a wireless thermostat cause any interference with other wireless devices in my home?

Honeywell's Connected Thermostats use Honeywell's proprietary communication protocol that work on the 868Mhz band. This should not interfere with any other wireless devices.

Are the T6 Smart Thermostats wall-mountable?

The T6 thermostat is a wired device and requires wall mounting.

The T6R and T6R-HW thermostat are wireless devices and are supplied on a fixed table stand.

Can I control my Honeywell Thermostat with my Windows Phone?

At this time Windows Phone support is not available for the Honeywell Thermostat family.

Are the T6 Smart Thermostats suitable for my Property?

The T6 Smart Thermostat is suitable for most wet heating systems including combination and system Boilers either gas or oil fired. It can also be used as part of S-plan and Y-plan system. 

Will my thermostat still work if I lose my internet connection?

Yes, your thermostat will keep working with the schedule it has stored in its memory.

However you will not be able to remotely control your heating system until an internet connection is restored.

Is the T6 Smart Thermostat compatible with any type of boiler?

The T6 wireless receiver can be used with on/off boilers and it has OpenTherm capabilities offering boiler modulation. Some boilers with modulation functions have restrictions on what connections will work and therefore we recommend contacting the boiler manufacturer.

What should I do if I get "Thermostat is offline" message on T6 Smart Thermostat?

If the message "thermostat is offline" is displayed please perform the steps below:

   1. Log out of the Honeywell Home App and then log back in.
   2. Remove the thermostat's face plate from the wall for about 30 seconds.
   3. Place the T6  Thermostat back on the wall.
   4. Check the Honeywell Home App to see if the thermostat has reconnected to the Wi-Fi network.
   5. Make sure the Wi-Fi router is powered on, and broadcasting a network signal. 
   6. Unplug the router for 30 seconds. 
   7. Perform a Wi-Fi reset.
   8. Remove the thermostat from the location and then re-add the device.
   9. Perform a "Factory Reset.".

How do I connect and register my T6 Thermostat?

You can connect to your T6 Thermostat by downloading the Honeywell Home app for your iOS or Android device. Then create your account and follow the on screen prompts.

What to do if I receive a "Device telemetry start" error message on my Honeywell Home app on Android?

In order to setup the device when the "Device Telemetry" error appears: 

  1. Delete cache
  2. Factory reset the device
  3. Reinstall the device on the app
What should I do if I cannot finish the registration of my T6 thermostat?

In order to solve a finalizing error of T6 thermostat registration:

  1. Delete the location from the Honeywell Home application.
  2. Uninstall the Honeywell Home app.
  3. Restore the thermostat to the factory settings.
  4. Install the Honeywell Home application and login to create the location again.
How to check the firmware on the T6 thermostat?

In order to check a firmware on the T6 Thermostat follow the steps below:

  1. Press the MAIN MENU button.
  2. Go to DEVICE INFO using left and right arrows.
  3. Press the tick.
  4. Go to FIRMWARE using left and right arrows.

The firmware number will be displayed below.

How to check the MAC and CRC on the T6 thermostats?

For the T6 wired:
Take the unit off from the wall and turn it around, on the back there should be a red sticker showing the MAC.

For the T6R wireless:
Lift the unit up and turn it around. There should be a red sticker on it showing the MAC.

In order to obtain the MAC ID on the display follow the below steps:

  1. Press the menu bsymbol to access the menu
  2. Go to DEVICE INFO using left and right arrows
  3. Press the tick
  4. Go to MAC ID using left and right arrows

The MAC ID number will be displayed

How to set up PIN protection on the T6 thermostat?

To set the PIN protection on the T6 Thermostat, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click the main menu button
  2. Press the right arrow to go to the LOCK menu. In the LOCK menu you can choose among the following options:
    - OFF - no PIN protection
    - PARTIAL - only the temperature can be changed
    - FULL - no access is allowed without a PIN number​
  3. Choosing PARTIAL or FULL protection the PIN number will appear on the screen.
    - It is always a sum of 1234 number and the date code of the product. ​
  4. ​Confirm the lock type with a tick.
    - ​A partially or fully locked screen will be indicated by a lock symbol at the bottom of the thermostat screen.
  5. To UNLOCK, touch a lock symbol. When prompted to enter a PIN number, touch [ + ] or [ - ] to select the first number of the PIN code. Confirm the number with a tick, and repeat for the remaining numbers.
How to factory reset a T6 thermostat?

In order to perform  a factory reset an a T6 thermostat:

  1. Press and hold the menu button until the Advanced menu opens.
  2. Go to "Advanced Reset" using left and right arrows.
  3. Press on "Factory"
  4. Press on the tick icon to confirm the rest.
How do I delete my thermostat from my account?

1. Go the main menu in the app

2. Select your thermostat

3. Go to "Thermostat configuration"

4. Select "Delete thermostat" and confirm.

What happens to my T6 thermostat settings if the power goes out in my home?

All settings are stored in permanent memory so that the thermostat can start working properly as soon as power is restored.

Can I change the name of my thermostat?

Yes.

1. Go the main menu in the Honeywell Home app.

2. Select your thermostat

3. Select Thermostat configuration

4. Change the thermostat name in the entry box 

Can I change my location name and details?

Yes.

1. Go the main menu in the Honeywell Home app.

2. Select "{location name} details"

3. Select "Edit Address"

4. Change the Name in the entry box 

I am trying to register my thermostat on my android device and it says ‘Internet not available’

This is normal and appears because you are connecting to the wireless access point on your thermostat which is not connected to the internet. Select and connect to the thermostat Wi-Fi: A pop up will appear ‘Internet Not Available’, which can be dismissed. When connected to the thermostat Wi-Fi, press ‘BACK’ to return to the app.  

I want to register my thermostat to a new Wi-Fi network or re-register to my router and I am getting an error message

You can try the following three options to resolve this:

  • Verify that you are using the right Wi-Fi password;
  • If using an android device try turning off cellular/mobile data whilst re-registering;
  • If you have shared the device’s location with other users, you should first remove the device from their accounts before proceeding.

How do I upgrade my Lyric app to the Honeywell Home app?

Your Lyric app will upgrade to the Honeywell Home app if you have your phone set to update your apps automatically. If you haven’t already, go ahead and set your Lyric app to automatically update. That way you can trust you’ll always have the best in performance, reliability, and peace of mind for your Lyric experience.

For iOS: Open your settings, select iTunes & App Stores, and tap the switch next to Updates. The switch will show green once it's enabled.

For Android: Open the Google Play app, tap Menu to get to your Settings, then select Auto-Update Apps. You can choose to allow updates at any time, or only over Wi-Fi.

After adding a new device it does not appear on the app

1. You need to stop the App by pressing the Home button on the iPhone twice. Close the App by swiping upwards. 
2.Restart the app, log on and restart to add the thermostat by pressing the ‘+’ Add Device.   

 

I get the message that my app cannot communicate with the thermostat. My thermostat is offline because it has lost internet communication.

- Check the power to the thermostat. 
- Check if the thermostat indicates a Wi-Fi error message or red cross. If so, check on the router if the Wi-Fi is still working. 
- Check on the router if the internet is still working. 
  

My thermostat is offline because it has lost internet communication. My app is working properly and the thermostat is registered.

Your app is still working properly 
- Check the power to the thermostat. 
- Check if the thermostat indicates a Wi-Fi error message or red cross. If so, check on the router if the Wi-Fi is still working.

The 'Add New Device' screen does not show my product

Select the right country you are in by pressing the “Change Country” at the bottom of the screen.   

What are the main Honeywell Home app features?

The Honeywell Home app connects to the internet so you can control your heating system from anywhere in the world. Additionally, the T6R-HW will allow hot water control. Some of the main features are: 

• Remotely view and change your heating system settings (and hot water systems - T6R-HW only).

• It contains a number of programming options that can fit to your lifestyle

• Group scheduling for multiple devices and locations

• Receives alerts and messages (such as High or Low tempertaure alerts, thermostat off-line) through the app and emails.

Where can I download the Honeywell Home app?

The Honeywell Honeywell Home app is a free download available for iOS devices at App store or for all Android devices at Google Play .

While adding a new device the App remains spinning at the end of the registration.

1.You need to stop the App by pressing the Home button on the iPhone twice. Close the App by swiping upwards. 
2.Restart the app, log on and the thermostat should be displayed.   

While adding a new device the App shows Communication Error message.

Your thermostat has lost the connection. 
Check if your thermostat is still showing Connecting/Configuring. 
If not restart the thermostat Wi-Fi by pressing the temperature for 5 sec. on the thermostat and press OK and restart. 
If it shows Connected/Configuring, press on the 'X' or on the blank lower right corner of the screen on the thermostat to stop the broadcast/connection.  

While adding a new device the App shows Device Data Sync Error

A communication error occurred between the thermostat and the server. 
Press OK and force close the Honeywell Home app completely. Restart the app and log on. If  the thermostat does not appear as registered, please try "Add new device" again. 

Check if your thermostat is still showing Connecting/Configuring. 
If it shows Connected/Configuring, press on the 'X' or on the blank lower right corner of the screen on the thermostat to stop the broadcast/connection. Now follow the instructions in the app. 

If you are still unable to register your device, please delete your location on the app (Location Details - Edit existing address), log-off and uninstall the app. Reinstall the app and start the registration process again.

While adding a new device the App shows Device Telemetry start Error

While connecting to my Wi-Fi network I get the following error message: "The thermostat could not connect to the selcted Wi-Wi network. Please try again"

Please press OK and wait to see if the connection can be established. In case you receive this message again, please ensure you have entered a correct password to your Wi-Fi network. 

The T6 thermostat will not work on a 5 Ghz Wifi Network. Please ensure that your router is configured to cover 2.4 Ghz as well.

How do I reset the password on my Honeywell Home account?

If you have forgotten your Honeywell Home account password or would like to reset the password of your Honeywell Home account, select the “Forgot Password” link on the Log In screen of your Honeywell Home app. We will send an email to the email address you used when creating your account that will enable you to reset your password. Simply click the “Reset Password” button in the email and you will be asked to create a new password. This email will be sent from Connected-Home ([email protected]). If you have not received the password reset email after five minutes, please check the Spam folder of your email account. If your activation email went to your Spam folder, please add our email address, [email protected], to your contacts and trusted mail sources as specified by your email client or ISP. If you do not find it in the Spam folder, click on the “Resend” button in the Honeywell Home app and the activation email will be resent. If you still do not receive your activation email, please contact the Lyric Technical Support team at  0300 130 1299 (dial 1 if you are a homeonwer) for help.

How do I turn the Heating on/off from my thermostat?

When the "Stand-by" icon is selected the heating will toggle between on and off.

How do I turn Scheduling on/off on my thermostat?

When the [SCHEDULE icon] icon is selected, the thermostat will activate or deactivate scheduling.

How do i control my hot water (T6R-HW model only)?

Selecting the hot water icon from the main menu on the thermostat display will allow you to schedule your hot water, perform an instant hot water "boost" or turn your hot water on/off

How do I enable/disable Holiday mode?

The Holiday mode can be enabled via the Honeywell Home app. To enable Holiday mode from within your Honeywell Home app go to Menu/Holiday.

Once enabled Holiday mode can be disabled from within the app or by touching your T6 Thermostat screen to resume the schedule.

How do I amend the schedule using my T6 Thermostat?

To update default schedules you can select the schedule button on the Honeywell Home app or go to Schedule in the menu of your Thermostat. The T6R-HW model has the scheduling of hot water in the hot water menu.

How many time and temperature profiles per day does the T6 thermostat allow?

 The T6 Thermostat allows a maximum of 6 time and temperature profiles per day with the minimum of 5 degrees frost protection. Additionally, the T6R-HW model provides for 3 hot water 'on' periods per day.

Are the T6 Thermostats compatible with Air Conditioning

No, the T6 Thermostats are designed to work in conjunction with Central Heating systems.

Why does the T6 Smart Thermostat have two product codes: Y6H810WF1005 and YH910WF1011?

As specified in the attached T6 Prod Spec Sheet V5, Y6H810WF1005 code is the part number for the product in other countries, while Y6H910WF1011 is the part number for the UK market only.

I’ve changed my WiFi router. How do I get my T6/T6R working again?

Unregister it from your Honeywell Home account. Do a hard reset of it. Re-run the registration procedure.

What is the Honeywell Home geofencing feature?

The geofencing feature is location-based scheduling which can intelligently override the time-based schedule of your thermostat. If your schedule varies or you regularly depart and return at different times, the Lyric Thermostat can automatically adjust to your life. Geofencing brings you comfort when you’re home and savings when you’re away.

When you enable the Lyric geofence schedule, it intelligently overrides your

fixed program schedule based on whether you are home or away.

• Active geofence schedule is indicated by the "geofence" logo in the top left corner of the screen. Home/Away status is indicated by the "house" logo and "away" logo.

• To learn more about configuring the geofence schedule, see the geofence menu in your Honeywell Home app.

• Geofencing can only be configured using your Honeywell Home app.

How do I set up geofencing with my Honeywell Home product?

For setting up Geofencing you need to be in the same location as your Lyric thermostat and have the location services (preferably including GPRS) of your phone switched on.

During the registration of your Lyric thermostat within the Honeywell Home app, you will have the option to also configure Geofencing. Please follow the on-screen prompts.

How does Geofencing work with mutiple people using the Honeywell Home App?

In case of multiple users the last user who is exiting / leaving the Geofencing boundry set up around your home is triggering the Geofencing AWAY setting, while the first user returning is triggering the Geofencing HOME setting. 

Does my T6 thermostat support Apple Homekit?

Yes, your T6/T6R thermostat works with Apple Homekit.

Note: this does not work with Android phones.

How do I set up Homekit after I have registered my thermostat via my iOS device?

To connect your iOS device:

1. Go to the main menu on the thermostat

2. Select your thermostat model

3. Select "Set up HomeKit and Siri" and follow the on screen prompts. 

What is Apple Homekit?

HomeKit is Apple's connected home technology used to seamlessly integrate and control HomeKit devices in your home from your mobile device. Within our T6 Thermostat, Honeywell has implemented the HomeKit Chip so that this is a certified HomeKit Product.

Can I use Homekit outside the home?

Apple Homekit does not work outside the home unless you have Apple TV as well.

Can I use a T6 thermostat with my evohome system?

The T6 thermostat communicates with the relay box through an encrypted radio frequency signal.

The evohome Wi-Fi Controller is not currently using an encrypted radio frequency signal and as a result the thermostat cannot be part of an evohome heating system.

The thermostat cannot be bound to the evohome Wi-Fi Controller nor can it be bound to the BDR91 due to the encrypted radio frequency signal.

In addition, it is not possible to use the Honeywell Home mobile application in order to control the evohome Wi-Fi Controller and it is not possible to use the TCC mobile application in order to control the thermostat.

Are the Honeywell connected products compatible with Google Home?

Both the T6 Smart Thermostat and the evohome smart multi-zone system are compatible with Google Home.

How do I connect a Honeywell Home device to work with Amazon Alexa?

In order to configure a Honeywell Home Thermostat to work with Amazon Alexa please check the following steps:

  1. Install the Honeywell Home app.
  2. Sync the T6 thermostat to work with Honeywell Home.
  3. Install Amazon Alexa app.
  4. Configure Amazon Alexa app for first time use and make sure is ON.
  5. Access the tab “Smart Home” in the Amazon Alexa app.
  6. Tap on the link “Your Smart Home Skills” located at the bottom of the page.
  7. Tap “Enable Smart Home Skills”.
  8. Search for the Honeywell Home app in the search tab on Amazon Alexa app.
  9. Tap on the Honeywell Home app once it is found and press “Enable”.
  10. A page will pop-up to ask you to login into the Honeywell Home app.
  11. App will ask you for permission, press "Allow".
  12. After you login, all the devices linked to the Honeywell Home app will be displayed.
  13. Select the needed ones and press "Connect".
  14. Close the window as the program requires. 
  15. Tap "Discover devices".
  16. Devices selected at step 13. will be displayed in the "Smart Home" tab.
